The last concert was just too much fun and they have to do it again…This time in the artful, unusual and fascinating back room!
ALBA MUSIK is flamenco mixed with a rich variety of musical influences like pop, jazz, funk, Latin and world music. The dynamic duo chased in NYC is powerhouse vocalist Bárbara Martínez and virtuosic guitarist Albert Alabedra. Together they compose the music and perform live, often accompanies with their extended family of ALBA musicians and dancers. Both of their studio albums, “Dawn” and “Alma”, made it to the first round for a GRAMMY nomination. ALBA songs are stories crafted in Spanish, but their expressiveness and their vivid imagery still manage to captivate English-speaking audiences.

ALBA Musik is the creation of the dynamic duo: powerhouse vocalist Bárbara Martínez and virtuoso guitarist Albert Alabedra. This vibrant project from NYC is flamenco mixed with a rich variety of musical influences like pop, jazz, funk, Latin and world music.
Both of their studio album releases (“Dawn”, 2023) and (“Alma”, 2024) made it to the first round for a GRAMMY nomination. In just two years, they have performed at The United Nations, Berklee College of Music, the World Economic Forum, The US Conference of Mayors and for the President of Spain!
ALBA songs are poems and stories crafted in Spanish woven into a rich landscape of emotions whose expressiveness captivates audiences of all cultures. ALBA makes you want to listen all day and clap and move and shout OLE!

ALBA loves celebrating the people living flamenco and creating beautiful communities everywhere.
This show features DC locals…Dancer La Magdalena and percussionist/singer Yiyi Orozco, who recorded on our second studio album, "ALMA".
La Magdalena is a beautiful dancer and she heads “Dance Flamenco DC”.
Yiyi is an accomplished flamenco singer and percussionist who is sought after by all of the US-based flamenco companies and festivals, and can be seen performing with Carlota Santana Flamenco Vivo.
And of course, we’re bringing with us from NYC the one and only Sean Kupisz on bass because we just can’t be without him! He has been away for a while but is re-emerging and we are honored to have him join us whenever possible.

Concert will be at a beautiful cultural space in the heart of Portland, Maine called Mayo Street Arts, a beacon for creativity in the area.

This concert will be an intimate presentation of “DAWN” the album that ALBA Musik releases on June 18, 2023. The official album release concert is scheduled for release on June 18 in NYC .
ALBA Musik is then bringing the celebration to Boston on June 25 with just Bárbara Martínez (voice), Albert Alabedra (flamenco guitar), and Gonzalo Grau (keys/percussion), showing the essence of these original flamenco songs as they were first created.
